Kosher Laws
Health the biblical way.
Kosher is the food laws and traditions of scripture as defined over
thousands of years. Some of the most basic are described below. These
definitions are the most widely accepted, some opinions will vary.
Types of Kosher
Kosher Pareve:
Foods containing No meat, No dairy and No non kosher items. Seafood, Gelatin and
Eggs are Pareve when kosher. Pareve foods can be combined with kosher meat or
kosher dairy but not both.
Kosher Dairy:
Foods containing dairy products with No meat or non kosher items.
Kosher Meat:
Foods containing meat products including mammals and poultry with No dairy or
non kosher items. Mammals must have cloven hooves and chew their
cud and are artiodactyl herbivores,
such as grass fed cows, goats, deer and sheep. Birds not kosher are
scavengers including meat eating vultures and eagles.
Kosher for Passover:
Passover is a week a year for the abstaining from gluten.
Gluten is from grains: Wheat, barley, rye, spelt (a type of wheat), and gluten
foods made from gluten grains.
A few strict observers also exclude for one week a year the following (due to
possible cross contamination): No
oats, rice, corn, beans, legumes, rape/canola, anise, buckwheat, caraway, cumin,
sesame, coriander, fennel, fenugreek, flax, millet, mustard, saffron, sesame,
sunflower and poppy.
All meats, dairy, and vegetables if kosher are kosher for Passover.
Non Kosher: Insects, pork,
shellfish, sea mammals and fish without scales and fins. Do not eat any
combination of meat and dairy. Mammals without cloven hooves or do not
chew their cud (greens and grass chewers). Kosher Laws
Observe a Gluten Free Passover
Modern science is now discovering that the growth of Candida Albicans
yeast/fungus is controlled by a gluten free diet. Without the abstinence
of gluten for one week a year (Passover) Candida Albicans slowly grows out
of control. The symptoms of Candida Albicans
mimic those of
celiac disease (gluten intolerance). In today's modern age grain/wheat/gluten
fed animals and milks may also need excluded in a strict gluten free diet.
Eat Meat and Dairy Separately
Meat and dairy need different digestive elements to digest properly. To
digest the best they need eaten at different meals. This provides more
nutrition from the meals.
Eat only meat from herbivores:
Only herbivore mammals and birds were allowed for food (cow, deer, goat and
sheep) (animals that chewed the cud (chewing grasses and herbs) with split
hoofs). Other mammals ate grains and meats. Farm raised cattle in the USA are no
longer herbivores (grass and herb diet animals). Research has recently revealed
that grain fed animals are not healthy to eat, resulting in high cholesterol
etc. Only grass/herb fed animals have the high omega 3's and the proper ratio's
of fats for a normal weight healthy diet. Oil ratios affect cholesterol levels
which contribute to heart disease and stokes, the leading cause of death in the
United States. Eating a herbivore animal is like eating concentrated grasses and
herbs. Eating a grain fed animal is like eating concentrated grains
(gluten)/carbohydrates which produce fat and weight
gain. The United States is now the 46th healthiest nation in the world
with a very high obese population.
Wild Poultry is kosher. In the wild poultry eats grasses and herbs, now
raised in cages and fed corn, soy and sometimes wheat (gluten).
No Shellfish. Most shellfish live at the bottom of the water
and most often contain mercury. When mercury, an extremely
dangerous element is consumed it is
attracted to sulfur an element contained in every cell. So it tends to
accumulate and is very difficult to remove from the body.
Utensil Separation: Utensils that come in contact with
raw red blood meats must not come in contact with other foods before being
sterilized. |
