Alum is Aluminum Sulfate (Al₂(So4))

Typically used in the 21st century in baking powder and also in pickles.

Most companies have been changing their formulas to not include alum in their products. Many years ago we made a conscientious decision  to not sell alum.

Alum is an optional ingredient when making pickles. When used it helps to retain the natural firmness of the pickle.

Baking soda is Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3) and does not contain aluminum.
