eye appeal, if that leads to more usage then the golden flax would be the better
one to use.
May be used in baking by replacing ten percent of the flour.

It is best to grind fresh in small coffee mill each day before
use. After grinding it can be mixed with hot or cold cereals.
We also fresh grind the flax seeds the same day as shipment.
Ground Brown Flax

Bread or Muffins
|1/2 cup ground flax
||1/2 teaspoon salt
|1/2 cup water
||1/4 cup butter
|1 cup flour
||2/3 cup sugar
|9 crushed single graham wafers
||2 beaten eggs
|2 teaspoons baking powder
||1 cup mashed bananas
|1/4 teaspoon baking soda
|| 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
|Soak the flaxseed in water for 10 minutes. Mix dry
ingredients. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add eggs and
beat, add flaxseed mixture and bananas. Stir in dry ingredients. Bake at
350F about one hour. Muffins bake in 20 minutes.
Flaxseed & Wheat Germ
|1 cup ground flaxseed
||1/4 cup canola oil
|1 cup wheat germ
||2 1/2 cup warm water
|2 cups water
||3 tablespoons molasses
|2 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
||3 tablespoons sugar
|1 teaspoon salt
||10 cups whole wheat flour
|1/2 cup water
||2 ounce butter or oil
|Soak flaxseed and
wheat germ in 2 cups water for 15 minutes.
In a large bowl mix 2 1/2 cups warm water, molasses and sugar. Stir both
mixtures together. Add 3 cups whole wheat flour and stir. Mix the yeast,
sugar and 1/2 cup water together. Let both mixtures set 10 minutes.
Stir both mixtures together. Add about 7 cups flour to form a smooth,
slightly sticky dough. Knead on floured surface. Place dough in buttered
mixing bowl. Cover. Let rise 45 minutes. Mold into 4 or 5 loaves. Place into
buttered pans. Cover and let rise 40 minutes. Bake at 350F for 50 minutes.
Extra Good Healthy Banana Bread
In large bowl, lightly beat 1 egg.
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 Tablespoons Applesauce
2 Tablespoons Water
To beaten egg, add above ingredients, and beat gently until
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup ground Flaxseed
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
In medium bowl, combine above dry ingredients. Preheat oven to
350 degrees F. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture. Stir only until combined.
1 cup pureed banana
Mash ripe (the riper the better) in bowl with fork, till well
pureed. Add pureed
banana to mix and stir, just until mixed.
Pour into greased 8" x 4" loaf pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes,
until knife inserted
in center comes out clean. Cool loaf in pan on wire rack for 15
minutes, then turn out
